Lara Aknin

Dr. Lara Aknin is a Distinguished Associate Professor of Psychology at Simon Fraser University, former Fellow with the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, and a co-associate editor of the World Happiness Report. She has received a Rising Star Award from the Association for Psychological Sciences, the President's New Researcher Award from the Canadian Psychological Association, and a Sage Young Scholar Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. Dr. Aknin holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Her research examines the antecedents and consequences of happiness and prosocial behaviour with a particular focus on how generous behaviour makes people feel.
